Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is to assist students in the pursuit of musical excellence by providing the highest quality of piano education. The aim is to realize the student's full artistic potential through cultivating a musical sense, aesthetic sensitivity, sensory awareness and introspection, technical dexterity, as well as an appreciation of the performing arts. Cultivation of pianistic artistry (from the earliest stages) would be accomplished through personalized individual instruction, where a curriculum will be developed based upon the unique needs of each student. The experience of musical study and performance is viewed as a joint musical adventure through which the pedagogue and student co-participate to explore the myriad possibilities and intricacies of artistic expression.

Uncompromising standards are advocated in realizing the highest level of musicianship. In addition to personalized instruction, this is faciliated by follow-up sessions between lessons, a friendly and encouraging learning atmosphere, a finely equipped studio with two professional concert grand pianos and state-of-the-art audio visual recording equipment for real-time feedback, an extensive music library, and most important of all, genuine care and attention from the pedagogue.
